Our Story
Alluxio, originally known as Tachyon, started as founder Haoyuan (H.Y.) Li’s Ph.D. research at UC Berkeley’s AMPLab, addressing data sharing challenges within the Apache Spark ecosystem. As technology trends shifted toward hybrid and multi-cloud architectures and AI, Alluxio evolved to bridge the data access gap for AI and data-intensive workloads across any environment. Today, Alluxio’s AI Acceleration Platform powers nine of the world’s top ten internet companies.
